Somewhere to live, sorted quickly
Furnished homes for people who need one at short notice, after a fire or a flood, on a work assignment, or on a project away from home. Managed by RGS, nationwide.
- Furnished and equipped on arrival
- Flexible length of stay
- Billed to an insurer or employer where agreed
- One named contact throughout
Who we work with
Three situations, one way of working
Different reasons for needing a home at short notice. The same approach to sorting it.
Alternative accommodation for insurance claims
When a home is uninhabitable after a fire, a flood or an escape of water, most home insurance policies cover somewhere else for the household to live while the property is repaired. That cover is often called alternative accommodation. The household needs a home quickly, near the same schools, work and family, for a length of time nobody can predict at the start.
What we do
- Find accommodation close to the original address, so school runs and commutes still work
- Furnish and equip it, so a family can move in with what they are carrying
- Flex the length of stay as the repair timeline moves, rather than forcing a fixed term
- Handle the move-in, the keys, the utilities and the questions that follow
- Accommodate pets and accessibility requirements where the property allows
How we work together
- A single named contact for each placement, from first call to move-out
- Written quotations before anything is committed
- Invoicing arranged with the insurer, loss adjuster or claims handler as agreed
- Regular updates on the placement for the duration of the claim
Corporate stays and employee relocation
Staff on secondment, new hires relocating, and project teams working away from home. Hotels get expensive and uncomfortable past a couple of weeks, and a standard tenancy is too rigid for an assignment that might last three months.
What we do
- Serviced apartments and whole houses, furnished and ready to work from
- Terms that match the assignment rather than a twelve-month tenancy
- Locations chosen around the office, the site or the transport links
- Cleaning and linen included, so there is nothing for the employee to arrange
- Space for families where the move is a permanent relocation
How we work together
- Agreed rates for repeat bookings rather than a quote each time
- One account, consolidated invoicing and a single point of contact
- Bookings confirmed in writing with the terms stated up front
- Availability checked and held while the assignment is confirmed internally
Contractor and project team accommodation
Crews on site for weeks or months at a time. The requirement is different from a corporate let: more beds, parking for vans, somewhere to dry kit, flexible arrival and departure as the programme changes.
What we do
- Whole houses with multiple bedrooms rather than separate hotel rooms
- Parking, storage and practical layouts for a working crew
- Check-in and check-out timed around shifts, not a hotel's front desk
- Extensions arranged as the programme moves, without starting again
- Properties near the site, not near the nearest city centre
How we work together
- Priced per project, with the whole programme quoted up front
- One booking covering the crew rather than individual reservations
- A direct number for the site manager, not a call centre
- Consolidated invoicing per project or per month, as you prefer
How it works
From enquiry to keys
01
Tell us what is needed
Area, how many people, roughly how long, and who is paying. Two minutes on the form or one phone call.
02
We come back with options
Properties that actually fit the brief, with the cost set out in writing before anything is committed.
03
Move in
We handle the paperwork, the keys and the setup. Furnished and equipped unless you tell us otherwise.
04
We stay on it
One contact for the whole stay. If the dates move, we move with them rather than starting the process again.
Partners
Place people regularly? Let's set it up properly.
Insurers, loss adjusters, HR teams and contractors get agreed rates, consolidated billing and one point of contact, rather than negotiating each booking from scratch.
- Rates agreed once, not per placement
- Invoicing arranged to suit how you account for it
- A named contact who knows your account
- Coverage nationwide
Common questions
Relocations, answered
- My home is uninhabitable after a fire or flood. Can you help?
- Yes. Tell us the area you need to stay in, how many people, and roughly how long. We will come back with options and a written cost. If an insurer or loss adjuster is handling your claim, we can deal with them directly on the billing once you have told them who we are.
- Does the insurance pay you directly?
- It can. Where the insurer, loss adjuster or claims handler agrees to it, we invoice them directly and you do not pay up front. That has to be agreed with them first. We cannot authorise anything on a policy, and we do not advise on claims.
- How long can we stay?
- From a few weeks to a year or more. Repair timelines move, so we would rather extend a stay than tie you to a fixed term that stops before the work finishes.
- Is the accommodation furnished?
- Yes, unless you ask otherwise. Furniture, kitchen equipment, bedding and towels are there on arrival, so a household can move in with what they are carrying.
- Do you take pets?
- Often, though it depends on the individual property. Tell us at the enquiry stage and we will only put forward places that allow them.
- We place people regularly. Can we set up an account?
- That is what the partner form is for. Insurers, loss adjusters, HR teams and contractors can agree rates and billing with us once rather than negotiating per booking.
