Reviews & testimonials policy

Our commitment

Every testimonial and review we publish on this website comes from a genuine RGS Properties landlord, describing their own real experience. We take our obligations under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCC Act) and the Competition and Markets Authority's guidance on fake and misleading reviews seriously, and this policy explains how we meet them.

We only publish reviews from genuine clients, with consent

• We do not write, buy, commission or otherwise fabricate reviews.
• We do not publish a review, testimonial or quote from a landlord without their knowledge and express permission to use their words, name (or the level of detail they're comfortable with) and property details.
• We do not submit, or ask anyone else to submit, a review on a third-party platform on behalf of a client who did not write it themselves.
• We do not ask friends, family, staff or contractors to post reviews of RGS Properties as if they were customers.

Incentives are disclosed

If we ever offer an incentive (such as a thank-you gift or account credit) in exchange for a landlord leaving a review, we ask that the review discloses the incentive, and we will say so clearly wherever that review is published. We do not make a review conditional on it being positive.

We don't suppress or cherry-pick negative reviews

On platforms we control, such as this website, we do not selectively hide, delete or bury genuine negative reviews to make our overall rating look better than it is. Where we choose which reviews to feature (for example, on our homepage or landlord stories page), that selection does not misrepresent the overall balance of feedback we receive.

On third-party review platforms we do not control, we cannot remove a genuine review we disagree with; we may respond to it publicly and honestly instead.

How we verify reviews

Before a testimonial is published, we confirm that the person giving it is a current or former RGS Properties landlord client, and we keep a record of their written consent to publish. Testimonials placed on this website as examples while we collect real reviews are clearly labelled “Placeholder” and are not shown to visitors once the site is live in production.

Report a suspicious review

If you believe a review published by RGS Properties is fake, misleading, or was not given with genuine consent, please tell us. Email info@rgsproperties.co.uk with details, and we will investigate and respond.
